Dr. Rev. Mark L. Gurley
Mark began his career in 1988. His specialty, since 2002, has been advising financial institutions to maximize their yields, minimize taxes and reward and retain their top performing executives.
He obtained his Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC) and Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP) from the American College in Bryn Mawr, PA. Mark is also Certified in Long Term Care (CLTC). Mark has a degree in Business Administration from Calvin University in Grand Rapids, MI. In November 2021, Mark received two Masters Degrees and A Doctorate from Primus University of Theology. His doctorate has an emphasis on Financial Planning and Business Leadership. As part of his dissertation, Mark wrote a book titled "One Person Can Make a Difference". In February 2024, he released his second book "Healing Deliverance & Miracles". Mark holds several board of director positions statewide in non-profit organizations in Michigan as well as one international non-profit. Mark is an ordained minister and has led several ministries while being a Financial Advisor. He was a founder and director of the Healing Rooms of Grand Rapids from 2002-2009 a ministry that brought healing to the sick and injured. Mark is a charter member of The Oak Initiative and is co-director for the Michigan Oak Initiative. He is a founding board member of the Michigan Capitol House of Prayer (MICHOP) in Lansing the Capitol of Michigan. In February 2017, Mark was elected as the Grassroots Vice Chair of the Michigan Republican Party and served in that role for two years. In 2019, Mark was a founding board member of the Michigan Heartbeat Coalition to end abortion once there is a detectable heartbeat.
In 2013, Mark was knighted in the Order of St. Johns of Jerusalem, the oldest Christian order in the world. Commonly known as Knights of Malta. In 2020, he was promoted to Grand Prior of the Midwest (USA) and appointed to the 9 -person Supreme Council governing body. Mark and his family have been special guests to the World Public Forum, A Dialogue of Civilizations with world leaders and influencers held in Rhodes Greece.
Mark and his wife Michele have been married since 1995 and have two adult married children, both whom were homeschooled. They have been able to travel as a family to great destinations building memories that will last a lifetime. Mark is an avid skier, which works well with his love for travel as he has been to more than 85 ski resorts. Mark is a car guy and loves to go to cars and coffee events, participate in road rallies, and occasionally go to the track.
Legacy is important to him which is why Legatus Memoria® was formed.
His great-great Grandfather, Dr. Phineas Gurley (read more) was Abraham Lincoln’s pastor during his presidency. They met daily to pray and study the Bible which led to the two men drafting the Emancipation Proclamation. What legacy will you and your corporation leave to future generations? Let’s talk about it.
